Scott M. Creel, ASA
Mr. Creel is a Managing Partner and the Chief Executive Officer of Value Resource Group, Inc., a full service Appraisal, Auction, Liquidation, and Consulting firm. Mr. Creel oversees and reviews all Inventory, Aviation, and Machinery & Equipment appraisals, manages the data input, programming, and appraisers. He is known as one of the country’s foremost experts in inventory valuation theories, techniques, aviation parts and aircraft, and liquidation exit strategies.
Mr. Creel has conducted more than 1800 valuations to date on virtually all types of inventories. His range of experience includes manufacturing, retail, and distribution inventories in most industries. These inventory appraisals have been conducted for lending purposes, ad valorem taxation, and litigation support. Mr. Creel was responsible for creating the first proprietary inventory valuation software, in which inventories can be valued by line item rather than globally, a critical factor for adjusting value for mix, obsolescence, and turn. Since 1990, he has been developing what is now considered the standard methodology within the asset-based lending community for the appraisal of aviation spares, having designed a database that includes more than 17,000,000 individual OEM part numbers.
Mr. Creel is an accredited Senior Member in the Machinery/Technical Specialties Discipline (Aviation), and is a contributing author of the inventory valuation course offered by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), ME206. This upper level course is the primary tool by which the ASA trains its members in the basics of inventory appraisals. In addition, Mr. Creel coauthored the first comprehensive monograph for inventory appraisals titled "A Guide to Understanding the Inventory Appraisal Process”.Mr. Creel began his career as an auctioneer’s assistant. He was educated at George Washington University and Southern Methodist University. In 1980, he became a market analyst for R.S.I. Appraisal Group, where he eventually became manager of the research department. Joining MB Valuation Services, Inc. in 1984 in the same capacity, Mr. Creel continued in the valuation of machinery & equipment. In 1986, he began to devote his energies to the valuation and liquidation of inventories and aviation related assets. Under his direction, the inventory department grew in volume from approximately 15 appraisals the first year to more than 100 appraisals per year. This capacity continues with Value Resource Group, Inc.
Rick L. Garren
Mr. Garren is a Managing Partner and the President of Value Resource Group, Inc., a full service Appraisal, Auction, Liquidation, and Consulting firm. Mr. Garren has been appraising inventory since 1992 and his range of experience includes manufacturing, retail, and distribution inventories in most industries. These inventory appraisals have been conducted for lending purposes, ad valorem taxation, and litigation support. From 1977 to 1979, Mr. Garren was Vice President & General Manager of a Wholesale Service & Distribution Company. From 1979 to 1984, he was President of a Chemical Distribution Company and from 1984 to 1992, he was the Financial Manager of a major Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation.Mr. Garren was educated at North Texas State University in Business Administration/Economics and at El Centro College in Computer Science. He is currently a member of The American Bankruptcy Institute and The American Society of Appraisers. He contributed to the inventory valuation course offered by the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), ME206, and coauthored the first comprehensive monograph for inventory appraisals titled "A Guide to Understanding the Inventory Appraisal Process".
Wanda J. Kinney-Canary, ASA
Ms. Kinney-Canary is an Account Representative and Chief Appraiser for Value Resource Group, Inc., a full service Appraisal, Auction, Liquidation, and Consulting firm. She is also a Chief Appraiser with more than 20 years of experience in the commercial and industrial appraisal field, and is the third woman worldwide to receive her Senior Accreditation for the Machinery/Technical Specialties discipline with the American Society of Appraisers. Having traveled extensively both nationally and internationally in her appraisal career, Ms. Kinney-Canary possesses significant experience in heavy industry, chemical, and other process facilities. To this end, Ms. Kinney-Canary has completed additional training in process plant construction estimating standards. Her appraisal experience also extends to Metalworking, Woodworking, Plastics/Rubber, Health/Pharmaceuticals, Salt Mining, and many others.
Ms. Kinney-Canary received her Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from Southern Methodist University. She has served three terms as Membership Chairperson in the Kentucky Chapter of the ASA, and has given expert testimony in both state and federal courts as well as other venues. Ms. Kinney-Canary brings a level of appraisal expertise we are privileged to offer to our clientele, and consider her an invaluable member of our appraisal team.
David Fuller, CFA, ASA
David is the President and founder of VALUE Incorporated, a financial valuation consulting firm specializing in the valuation of businesses, securities, intellectual property and economic damages for a wide variety of purposes including transactions, financial and tax reporting, management and strategic planning, and litigation. Mr. Fuller has consulted extensively in the financial and valuation fields for more than 20 years, first with a global accounting and consulting firm and then with a national financial valuation firm prior to forming VALUE Incorporated. David has experience with companies in a wide variety of industries.
David has published numerous articles on valuation and financial topics, and lectured to groups of professionals as well as students at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. David has testified as an expert on valuation and damages issues many times in both deposition and trial settings in a variety of federal and state courts. His educational background includes an MBA concentrated in Finance from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Arts concentrated in Economics from Austin College. David is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA), and a member of Financial Executives International, the Association for Corporate Growth, as well as several other professional organizations.
Travis Keath, CFA, CPA/ABV
Complementing his many years of consulting experience at Price Waterhouse, Deloitte & Touche, and as a Principal of a national financial valuation firm, Travis also served as the Chief Financial Officer of AllGood Media, Inc. His consulting work has focused primarily on corporate finance and business valuation issues, and he has been involved in more than one thousand projects. Travis has extensive experience in the quantitative assessment of business operations and capital structure, as well as the analysis of intellectual property and intangible assets.
Travis has testified as an expert witness in numerous venues, including federal and state district courts, United States Tax Court and arbitration panels of the NASD and the American Arbitration Association. In addition, he has assisted with valuation issues in mediation and informal negotiations between parties in dispute. His educational background includes a BBA. and an MS degree from Texas A&M University, both concentrating in Corporate Finance. In addition, Travis is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the Dallas Society of Financial Analysts.
